Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew –
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God

Welcome to my website which is a celebration of our remarkable natural world.
I aspire to capture the energy of life and inexplicable beauty of my subjects,
whether that be wildlife, botanical art or portraiture.
The Artist
Kendyll is a full-time professional artist working from her home studio in Cape Town, South Africa. She combines her two greatest passions – drawing and the natural world – and has been creating portraits (and more recently pet portraits) for 25 years.
After a period of change around 2015, Kendyll shifted from working largely in oils back to her first love: drawing. She works in pencil, coloured pencil and pastels. Kendyll specialises in a detailed and realistic style of drawing, capturing not only a physical likeness but the essence of the animal or person she is potraying.
The Art Materials
Kendyll uses the highest quality art materials available to ensure the longevity of her work.
She creates her pieces using pastel base layers and coloured pencil surface layers for fine details. She mainly uses Pan Pastels, Stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils, Gioconda soft pastel pencils, Faber-Castell pitt pastel pencils, Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils, Caran d’Ache Pablo coloured pencils and Caran d’Ache Luminance coloured pencils on Clairfonteine Pastelmat Paper or board. These art materials are museum-grade archival, with the highest quality lightfastness.
